typical sessions run about an hour total, although I do not enforce any time limits.  session price includes on location session for up to 5 people, $10 for each additional person.  an indoor studio space can be reserved for an extra fee.  extra charges may apply for locations further than 20 miles from grand rapids.

newborns/seniors/boudoir

$250.00

newborns are best if scheduled in the first 14 days of life, and it is not unusual for a newborn sessions to be 3-4 hours long due to stopping for feedings, re-positioning, etc. I will also include family & sibling shots as part of a newborn package if that is desired.

boudoir & newborn sessions can take place in the comfort of your own home or at a private studio that can be reserved for an extra fee.

senior sessions include one location and multiple outfit changes.  arrangements can be made for multiple locations and/or multiple days, but will require an extra fee. sessions typically run about 2 hours, although I not enforce a time limit.

*these types of sessions require a bit more shooting & editing time, which is the reason for the difference in fee.*

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a photo session?

You can email or Facebook message me to discuss details and get any questions answered.  Once we decide the date you would like to book, I'll send you a contract via email for you to sign, with instructions on how to pay the $25 retainer fee.

When will I receive my photos?

I typically post sneak peeks on Facebook within 24 hours of my sessions. (Please let me know if you would prefer your session not be featured on social media.) Full editing of your gallery is completed within 2 weeks, and I will let you know if that time frame cannot be met.

How many photos are included in a session?

My normal sessions produce at least  50 images.  This will obviously fluctuate depending on the factors of the session.  More often than not, I provide many more than that number.  It is my personal belief that you are paying for my time, and in return I provide as many shots as I can.  Some may not even be "perfect" but if they are a moment I captured during my time with you, I like to pass them along.  Your moments are important to me.

What is a digital download?

Once photos are complete, I will email you a link to your online gallery.  From there you can download the images from my website to your computer, and upload them/store them as you see fit.  I choose this method because it allows me to deliver your photos faster. However, a CD is still an option for those that request it.  Additional charges may apply.

When is payment due?

I humbly request the remainder of the session be paid at the time of the photo session. This can be done by cash/check (made out to Katie Cook Photography) or by clicking here for my online store: -------------->  Katie Cook Photography

Do you offer prints?

In addition to receiving your high-resolution images to print where you choose, you do have an option to order professional prints, canvases and other products directly from my website.  I use a professional lab, so the quality you will be getting is far superior to regular consumer labs.

Where is your studio?

Many of you will remember that for years I had a studio space in my basement, but due to our growing family and having a smaller home, we converted that space into a family room again.  There are several studios available in the area to rent for approximately $25-30 an hour and because of that, I decided to dismantle my home studio.

Do you photograph weddings?

Because my children are still young and I work part-time outside the home as well as do family photography, I made the decision not to pursue wedding photography.  I've photographed a few weddings, as you may see on this site, but they were only for close family & friends who had very small weddings.  I don't feel have the resources to take on such large projects, as most weddings use two shooters, multiple cameras and all-day coverage.  I leave that to the many capable wedding photographers in and around West Michigan. :)  Ask me for my favorites and I will be happy to tell you names!
